Caseload Manager - Young Offenders

The Company:

Our client are curently looking for a Caseload Manager to work within their Youth Offending Service to provide and have overall management responsibility for individual cases, assessing the needs of young people within the context of offending, managing interagency intervention plans and processes, and co-ordinating the work of the Youth Offending Service and other staff of recognised agencies included in the provision of service for young people.

The Job:

• To provide a court duty service in the Youth Court and to attend Criminal and Civil Courts as required.
• To supervise and manage pre-sentence intervention including bail information, bail assessment and bail support and support for those clients denied bail.
• To prepare Court and Youth Panel reports to national, and other relevant standards.
• To make clear assessments in relation to risk of harm to the public, risk of re-offending and of offence related needs in order to allocate appropriate and targeted resources to the reduction and prevention of youth offending.
• To develop and implement programmes based on principles of effective practice for all children and young people and their families in contact with the team.
• To make assessments and deliver interventions following a final warning, making appropriate use of other team members, partnerships and community resources.
• To provide a duty system as required.
• To act as appropriate adult in PACE interviews.
• To provide through care for young people serving Detention and Training Orders and other custodial sentences and post release supervision in line with national and other relevant standards using a range of resources provided by other team members, partnerships and community resources.
• To deliver services in a flexible and accessible pattern, mindful of the need to maintain and reintegrate children and young people into school, training or work and the family.
• To contribute to the monitoring, research and evaluation of services and the Youth Justice system in order to assess the effectiveness of services in the reduction of prevention of youth offending.
• To influence and work alongside local agencies and organisations not directly involved in the work of the Youth Offending Service to help reduce and prevent offending by young children and young people.
• To attend supervision and appraisal meetings with the line manager and team meetings as required.
• To participate in appropriate training as identified via supervision and appraisal in order to maintain current standards of competence and professional development.
• To actively promote equal opportunities in all aspects of the work and full regard to the local authority’s equal opportunities policy.
• To take reasonable care of your own health and safety and co-operate with management, so far as is necessary, to enable compliance with the authority’s health and safety rules and legislative requirements.
• To assist in the training and development of staff and to undertake such personal training as may be deemed necessary to meet the duties and responsibilities of the post.
